1. Financial Hardship Relief
To relieve the effects of extreme financial hardship by providing: • Emergency relief payments for rent arrears, utilities disconnection prevention, and essential medical expenses; • Food parcels, grocery vouchers, clothing and essential household goods; • No-interest emergency loans for individuals at risk of homelessness; • Financial counselling and crisis budgeting support for individuals experiencing acute financial distress.
2. Relief of Homelessness and Housing Crisis
To relieve homelessness and housing insecurity by providing short-term emergency accommodation assistance, rental bond support, and intensive case management to individuals and families at immediate risk of eviction or homelessness.
3. Relief of Mental and Emotional Distress
To relieve serious psychological distress associated with trauma, domestic violence, forced migration or extreme hardship by providing free trauma-informed counselling, crisis intervention, and culturally appropriate mental health support to affected individuals.
4. Culturally Specific Benevolent Relief
To relieve distress and social isolation experienced by newly arrived migrants, refugees and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) individuals facing severe economic hardship by: • Providing culturally appropriate crisis support services; • Delivering language-assisted casework and advocacy to access housing, healthcare and income support; • Facilitating emergency community support networks for individuals without family support systems.
